Terms of Service

Last updated: 4 August 2026

These terms cover the chapter browser extension and the service it talks to at api.dativ.us.

Throughout, "we" means Dativus LLC, 1533 18th St, Santa Monica, CA 90404, contactable at contact@chapter.dativ.us. "You" means the person using the extension or holding an account.

By creating an account or using the extension, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the service.

What chapter is

chapter is a browser extension that draws round markers onto UFC broadcasts, so you can navigate a fight card without seeing how long is left in a round or how many rounds remain. It hides durations for the same reason: a visible timeline gives away the outcome.

The extension needs an account, because the marker data is the paid part of the service.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Paramount+, the UFC, TKO Group Holdings, or any broadcaster or rights holder. chapter does not host, stream, download, or redistribute any video. It describes where the rounds fall in broadcasts you are already entitled to watch through your own subscription with someone else. You need your own valid Paramount+ subscription; chapter is not a substitute for one and does not give you access to any video.

Your account

You need an account to use chapter. You agree to:

One account is for one person. Sharing credentials so several people use one subscription is not permitted, and repeated use from many places at once may result in suspension.

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

The subscription

chapter is sold as a yearly subscription, US$15.00 per year, including any sales tax or VAT that applies where you are. New accounts get a 30-day free trial, which begins when the account becomes usable - at email verification, or immediately for accounts created through Google or Apple sign-in. The trial does not require a payment method and does not turn into a paid subscription on its own.

Subscriptions renew automatically each year at the then-current price, using the payment method you gave, until you cancel. We will tell you by email before a renewal, and before any price change that affects you.

Payments and who you are buying from

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service enquiries and handles returns for purchases.

That means Paddle, not us, is the seller on your receipt, the party that charges your card, and the party responsible for sales tax and VAT. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's own buyer terms, which you accept at checkout. We never see or store your card details.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from the extension, which opens Paddle's customer portal, or by writing to us.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end the period you have already paid for - your access continues until that period runs out, and then stops. We do not delete the record of what you held when you cancel.

Refunds are covered by the separate refund policy, linked below.

What we ask you not to do

Do not:

We may suspend or close an account that does these things. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why first.

What we own, and what you may do with it

The extension, the service, and the marker data are ours and stay ours. While your subscription is active we give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for their intended purpose. That licence ends when your access does.

The extension's source is published, and anything we have released under an open source licence is governed by that licence rather than this section.

Availability

We try to keep the service running and the data accurate, but we do not promise either.

Broadcasts change. Markers are produced from recordings after the fact and can be wrong, late, or missing, particularly for events added recently. Paramount+ can change its site at any time in a way that stops the extension working until we catch up.

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law where you live allows. Some jurisdictions do not allow warranties to be excluded, and nothing here removes a right you have that cannot be removed by agreement.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for lost profits, arising from your use of the service.

Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim - which for a yearly subscription is at most one year's fee.

Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Ending the agreement

You may stop using chapter and delete your account at any time, from inside the extension. Deleting your account erases your personal data as described in the privacy policy, and ends your access immediately, including any period you had already paid for. If you want a refund, ask before you delete.

We may end this agreement if you break these terms, or by giving you reasonable notice if we stop offering the service. If we stop offering it, we will refund the unused part of any period you have already paid for.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, cancel, and tell us if the change left you with an unused paid period.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the courts of Los Angeles County, California have jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK, or anywhere else with mandatory local consumer protection, this does not take away rights you have under the law of the place you live, or your right to bring a claim there.

Note that purchases are made through Paddle as merchant of record, so a dispute about a payment, a refund, or a chargeback is between you and Paddle in the first instance.
